The project
The agriculture industry in Greece is far from being digitalized. A friend who runs a well-established family business in this industry approached me with a vision for change. We had a brief feasibility meeting over coffee, during which we discussed the current state of the industry and identified the potential role of a new app. In return, I offered insights into the technical requirements.
Once we both agreed that pursuing this idea was worthwhile, I opened Figma and began designing mockups. We opted for a simple landing page and web app with features resembling an admin panel, while also allowing for order placement and payments.

The challenges
The most significant challenge was my complete lack of knowledge about the agriculture industry. However, George's deep understanding and comprehensive vision for the product compensated for this. Nevertheless, we engaged in lengthy discussions and exchanged notes and files until we were certain that we were aligned in our understanding.

The second major challenge we faced was the limited funding available to us, coupled with our desire to create a product that was both easy and quick to develop, yet also appealing to potential investors. To address this, we made a strategic decision to simplify our product by eliminating the need for a complex database and server infrastructure. Instead, we opted to design and develop a web app that utilized static, simulated data to mimic the full product's functionality. This choice allowed us to efficiently create an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) within a short timeframe and at a lower cost. In fact, we had our MVP up and running within just a few months. Now, our primary goal is to secure the necessary funding.
We have already initiated discussions with potential investors, and we are highly optimistic that our full product will secure funding, enabling it to progress to its alpha version in the coming months.
