Road to Authenticity

The project

Georgios has been a good friend since our teenage years and you can't imagine the bliss I felt when he told me he wanted me to be in charge of a re-design of his website. He has studied in Greece and abroad, getting his masters and now focusing on person-centered psychotherapy and counselling.

He had a website already established that needed a bit of refurbishing so it can a more modern and relaxing aesthetic that will make the visitor feel relaxed before even booking a session with Georgios. I had complete freedom as far as the designs are concerned and created the mockups on Figma. There was no web development involved on this project as the website was hosted on Wix.com and we both felt it did not make sense to move to something different at the time.

The challenges

Honestly, this project came with little to no challenges. The tech stack behind it was already there, courtesy of Wix.com, so all we had to take care of were the designs. From the start, we agreed to a color scheme and an overall aesthetic that is "calm", "reassuring" and "cozy". We went with the dark green color of plant leaves, which is why so many are featured in the design as well. We made sure to showcase the competence of Georgios and also what he has to offer and what the patients are in for once they book a session.

Georgios approved of the designs immediately and I got to work to transform it into an actual pixel perfect web design on the internet.
